Permaculture
Permaculture Design Certificate 2008, Seeds of Change Research Farm, El Guique, New Mexico with Scott Pittman, Arina Pittman,
Toby Hemmenway, Les Crowder & Brad Lancaster.
Design Philosophy Focus on growing useful plants, in drought situations, and looking to make small, but significant changes to spaces.
Practice The work I have done includes water harvesting, building apple tree guilds, berm and basin design and implementation, greywater usage, and more. Growing useful plants (edibles, herbs, fiber plants, bee & bird forage, beneficial bug habitat, etc) is a key part of my practice. My blog features the ongoing practice at my site.
Consultation Permaculture design principles can be applied to bare land, agricultural land, apartment complexes, Real Estate developments, and commercial and residential settings. Implementing Permaculture basics can save money, resources, and energy.
Please contact me via e-mail to discuss a consultation, whether planning and planting a new victory garden, or looking for ways to integrate permaculture principles into an existing one. We'll find edibles to suit your space and interests.
Image: Pole beans by the patio offer some vertical, visual interest. The planting area also has chard, lavender, rosemary, bluberry, daikon radish, leeks, sunflower, and more. It is just steps away from the back door of the house, which is rather near the kitchen, and allows a quick harvest of fresh greens (chard) and herbs (rosemary, oregano, chives) year-round.
