She has been a professional gardener, editor, project manager, taxonomist, and publisher, among other things. She runs Creative Type, a small graphic design studio. New work includes designing and publishing a dadaist quarterly called Apricot Blossom. Her graphic design work has been used by the San José Chamber Orchestra, 1078 Gallery, Chico Art Center, Chico Beat newspaper, and more. Her photography has been shown in art galleries – including solo exibitions "Textural" at Avenue 9 Gallery in 2006, and "Carcinogenic" at the Humanities Center Gallery in 2008; group exhibitions at Chico Art Center and 1078 Gallery – and has been featured in magazines, newspapers and on her blog about practicing permaculture. She designs and produces limited edition notecards for GranitaCards.com. She is an avid gardener of edible, useful, and decorative plants. Through the Permaculture Institute, she earned a Permaculture Design Certificate in 2008 at Seeds of Change Research Farm at El Guique, New Mexico. In August 2011 she completed Permaculture teacher training at Lots of Life in One Place Farm in Pojoaque, New Mexico, also through the Permaculture Institute. Speaking topics include: Downspout Gardens, Growing and Using Herbs, and Growing Fruit Tree Guilds. Since the early 1970s she has been a member of Pelphüma, an artist collective in the Dadaist tradition. Pieces include a watercolor painting entitled a portrait of your dog, shown at the 1078 Gallery in 2011, and a film entitled mandarina, which was screened at the 1078 Gallery Film Festival 2010, and can be seen at the Pelphüma blog. Ms. Resnick occasionally composes and records sound art. A recent collaboration with the artist Brad Thiele resulted in a 28 song CD Why aren't you buying our baby? She resides in a lovely Northern California garden with her husband, a cat, and a flock of chickens. |
